We at Brave the Shave, have thoroughly evaluated our situation and have decided to cancel our Main Event this year, due to corona virus concerns. We take your health as well as our honoree’s health seriously and it’s our responsibility to follow CDC recommendations. This event raises a significant amount of our funds for the year. The loss of our Main Event will definitely hurt our ability to support our families. We need your help to continue providing aid to children battling cancer and their families.
If you are not signed up for our main event, please sign up under this event. Sign up now! You don’t need to shave your head or even cut your hair. Put your name on a list that says you care about these kids!
Then, on September 19th, send an email, a snail mail, a carrier pigeon, message stick, Morse Code, yodel or sing to your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. The message should be state, “on September 19th, I’m going to do something dramatic to show your support, such as:
a) shave my head
b) cut my hair
c) DONATE TO BRAVE THE SHAVE
d) all of the above.
When you register, write in the description what you intend to do to raise money. And you are by no means limited to our suggestions. If you want to say that you have to raise $500 or kiss a monkey, that's fine by us. Tell your friends why it matters and ask them to do the same thing. Ask them for help through a donation to Brave the Shave.
We know that this is not the same as being together. We are deeply disappointed that our kids won't get to share this time at the main event. This is a time of connection that our families and kids deeply enjoy. We can't let them down. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month so let's show these kids our support! It would mean the world to us and these kids.
