Brayden found a lump in his groin on September 21, 2017. After an ultrasound, Brayden’s case was escalated to a surgeon who performed surgery and sent his biopsy to Mayo Clinic for testing. Brayden’s family received a call two days later saying that they had to immediately return to Fargo. He was diagnosed with Stage 1 Burkitts Lymphoma and began chemotherapy two days later.
After enduring two 21-day cycles of chemo, Brayden was declared in remission on November 14, 2017. Since then, he is doing great and his future looks bright and promising. Brayden is currently 15 and would like to be a game warden and maybe a hunting guide in Alaska. He loves to hunt and fish. Travelling to Alaska has always been a dream of his so when he was granted that wish by Make-A-Wish, it was an amazing experience and solidified his love of the outdoors. He now only has ultrasounds and blood work every six months and he is hoping that he gets moved to annual visits after his next clear scan.
