Hello Friends and Family!
Hair tends to grow on you, so I find it tough to part (with). Bad dad jokes aside, help me raise money for a good cause!
In mid 2019, our daughter Meryl Sharp began to display balance issues and other coordination issues. This lead to an emergency room visit, where Meryl was diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma). A rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, with a minimal survival rate. Our world was turned upside down. Meryl faced scans, surgeries, rehab, travel, and long hospital stays with no complaints. Even as her physical body began to fail, she had a happy warrior mentality that the best of us rarely achieve. Meryl ultimately succumbed to cancer in March of 2020, a blink of an eye from diagnosis to the day of her passing.
While in the whirlwind of attempting to fight cancer, financial burdens are the last thing a family should have to worry about. Treatments, travel, lodging, and day to day expenses accumulate while families are just trying to keep the life they’ve built from falling apart. It’s an incredibly stressful and difficult set of circumstances. A parent shouldn’t have to worry about being able to pay for a treatment, finding a way to get to a facility, or contending with whatever may arise as they navigate through this journey.
Our family was fortunate, since we had great medical care. Our families were supportive in all ways possible. Brave The Shave reached out to us and offered help in any way they could. I am asking you to donate today, so that we can continue this chain of support for future families. Any amount helps and allows families to focus on what is truly important.
Love,
Seth, Angie, Dalila, Huski Boi and Dottie
