Jacielyn Delorme is a courageous seven-year-old cancer survivor from Belcourt. In December of 2016, at the age of three, she was diagnosed with Wilm’s Tumor. She went through nine months of treatment that consisted of multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Jacielyn’s first surgery was removal of the right kidney. Next, she completed twelve weeks of chemo and five days of radiation. Her second surgery was a partial removal of her left kidney and then she had to receive chemo for another twelve weeks. July 17, 2017 was her last day of chemo and her family rejoiced as she rang the bell six months later to signify finishing treatment and beating cancer! Jacielyn has a bright future and is full of life and love! She lights up any room when she walks in and has a kind heart. She is currently in first-grade and she suffers a little with anxiety at school when she’s in the spotlight, but overall, she is doing great! Jacielyn wants to be a teacher when she grows up, but that changes from day-to-day. She has been dancing jingle dress since she was 18-months-old. Jacielyn loves learning about her Native American culture and enjoys going to powwows during the summer. Jacielyn has recently become a proud big sister to Nataliya! She also has four older siblings who stood by her side during her cancer treatment: Michael (16), Tenleigh (14), JJ (13), and Jonte (11). The Delorme family is very proud of their brave little warrior princess who continues to bring joy to their lives each and every day! Jacielyn is such a bright, smart and brave girl for enduring all that she has in her life.
